Okay, it’s not Friday afternoon. But it could be when this tune plays. It could be Friday night, but who cares? What about this song, the way it feels? It’s funky. It’s got the right kind of energy. It’s a groove that can’t stop. Two versions – this one for more than eight minutes. They could have gone on for an hour and it would still be great. In fact, it’s not that hard to imagine what that would be like. A big grin and a lot of sweat. Excuse me, I’m only human.
Every time I turn around Back in love again
LTD (originally Love Men Limited), Jeffrey Osbourne, 1977, two weeks at #1. Back in Love Again played for two weeks non-stop. Everything fell apart. No buses, no business, no school. People in the street dancing. Dancing in offices. Dancing in the grocery store. Disco reigned supreme for those two weeks and crime was non-existent. There was a full moon every night. Leaves that had fallen in anticipation of winter jumped back up on the trees and started wiggling. Thanksgiving was cancelled, because this tune drove everyone crazy.
Every time I turn around My love Jones comin’ down
If only I could remember. I get so many mixed emotions. It’s just a warm, head-nodding blur now, but each time I hit Play, I’m taken back. Back in love, again.
