Paswonky

Paswonky (pah-swonki) takes its name from a song by Fats Waller.  It’s a name for playing.  Playing around.  Playing with others.  Just playing.  As in, “Albert is enjoying his Paswonky.”  This blog is about playing.  It’s about music.  It’s about the tunes you can’t get out of your head and the tunes you don’t ever want to lose.  Tunes meant to stick around for when you feel good. Or bad or mad or in the mood or on the go or when you have the blues or you can’t forget her or you just got up or you’re beat up or you’re sleepy or you’re in the shower or driving in your car or hoping for something good or you’re walking down the street or just sitting around or spacing out or feeling funky or trying to sing along or drinking coffee or watching the clouds or waiting for a call or cleaning up or trying to remember or trying to forget or just trying.

Paswonky

Each post will feature a song from somewhere for some reason.  Reasons always vary for why I want to hear something.  Most of the time I don’t even know I want to hear it until it begins and then I can’t think of a better song for that moment.  The moment passes and it’s time for another song, another tune, another piece of music.  It’s another moment altogether.  A new moment.  The next moment.  And what exciting thing am I going to hear next?  That’s what I want to know.

About Ted Ringer

I am a writer, artist, and listener. Great music is everywhere and has no limits. Some of it is well-orchestrated and some is short and sweet. It can spring out of a moment of deep feeling or result from long periods of development. Music is communication, inspiration, and a million other things. This blog wants to share the wealth and keep toes tapping.
